ERTACETAL
Acetal Copolymer or Acetal Homopolymer/Delrin
Main characteristics:
- High mechanical strength, stiffness, hardness and toughness
- Excellent resilience
- Good creep resistance
- High impact strength, even at low temperatures
- Very good dimensional stability (low water absorption)
- Good sliding properties and wear resistance
- Excellent machinability
- Good electrical insulating and dielectric properties
- Physiologically inert (suitable for food contact)
- Not self-extinguishing

Each material is normally available in rod, sheet, plate and tube and in most cases can be purchased cut to size – for a summary of availability,

The following grades are available:
ERTACETAL C
Colour: natural (white) / black
Download Technical Datasheet (PDF, 92KB)
Download Safety Datasheet (PDF, 194KB)
This is the Quadrant Engineering Plastic Products' virgin copolymer acetal grade.
The acetal copolymer is more resistant against hydrolysis, strong alkalis and
thermal-oxidative degradation than the acetal homopolymer.
We have also introduced a range of standard colours for extruded Ertacetal stock shapes -
red, blue, yellow, green, orange, brown and grey. Colours are subject to minimum order quantity.
ERTACETAL H (Delrin)
Colour: natural (white) / black
Download Technical Datasheet (PDF, 91KB)
Download Safety Datasheet (PDF, 194KB)
ERTACETAL H has higher mechanical strength, stiffness, hardness and creep resistance as well as a lower thermal expansion rate and often it also presents a better wear resistance than the acetal copolymer grade. Also referred to as DELRIN
ERTACETAL HTF
Colour: deep brown

ERTACETAL HTF is a DELRINŽ AF Blend, a combination of TEFLONŽ fibres evenly dispersed in a DELRIN acetal resin. Much of the strength that is inherent in ERTACETAL H is retained. Some properties change due to the addition of TEFLON fibre which is softer, less stiff and more slippery than virgin acetal resin. Compared with ERTACETAL C and H, this material offers superior sliding properties. Bearings made of ERTACETAL H-TF show low friction, long wear and are essentially free of stick-slip behaviour
