GCIP accredited as a Living Wage Employer

We are a living wage employer, logo.

We are thrilled to announce that Gilbert Curry Industrial Plastics (GCIP) has been accredited as a Living Wage Employer, effective from 3rd April 2023.

The Living Wage Foundation is a UK-wide initiative that sets a wage rate calculated to cover the cost of living, rather than just the legal minimum wage. By becoming a Living Wage Employer, GCIP is demonstrating its commitment to paying a fair wage to its lowest paid employees.

“At GCIP, we believe that everyone who works hard and contributes to our business should be rewarded fairly,” said Andy Cole, Managing Director of GCIP. “Paying the Living Wage is an essential part of creating a workplace where our employees feel valued and supported.”

While paying the Living Wage can be a challenging step for many businesses, GCIP firmly believes that the benefits of paying the Living Wage far outweigh any costs. By paying employees fairly, GCIP can attract and retain the best talent, create a positive working environment, reduce staff turnover and absenteeism, improve productivity, and reduce recruitment and training costs.

The Living Wage is calculated based on the cost of living and is reviewed annually to ensure that it remains up to date with changes in the economy. GCIP is committed to creating a workplace culture based on fairness and respect, and paying the Living Wage is an essential part of this.

“We are proud to be part of a wider movement of businesses who are committed to social responsibility,” concluded Andy. “We believe that businesses have a duty to make a positive impact on society, and paying the Living Wage is just one way that we can do this.”

As a Living Wage Employer, GCIP joins more than 7,000 employers across the UK who have committed to paying the Living Wage. This includes well-known brands such as Aviva, IKEA, and Nationwide.

GCIP is proud to have been accredited as a Living Wage Employer and looks forward to continuing to support its employees and its business in the years to come.
